The forces of Castile lifted the siege of Algeciras against Granada, having been unsuccessful in taking the city. 



The first college quadrangle


 (now known as “The Mob Quad”)

According to legend, 




William Tell shot an apple off his son’s head in Switzerland.




 On Friday, the 13th of October, 




Philip IV had all of the Knights Templar in France rounded up and forced them to confess to heresy. 




This is one supposed origin of the Friday the 13th superstition.
